Do or Do Not, There is No Try. (I disagree)

Screen Shot 2015-12-21 at 2.32.36 PMJust a few short hours before I get my geek on at the Star Wars movie, I’m reflecting on the immortal words of Jedi Master Yoda:

“Do or do not, there is no try.”

I respectfully disagree, and prefer the words of another undisputed master, William Shakespeare…

“Our doubts are traitors, and make us lose the good we oft might win, by fearing to attempt.”

Trying is the step that separate the dreamers from the achievers. Trying defeats doubt. Trying means you go and give it your all…

Even if you’re not ready…

Even if it’s not perfect….

Even if it means falling on your face. In public. On YouTube.

So…

STOP playing small. Take a chance, even if you feel crazy or ridiculous, or too big for your britches. Don’t judge yourself or hold yourself back from the good you might win by trying.

I love and support your trying, and I am always in your corner, cheering you on.

Happy Holidays – may the Force be with you!!

Founder Mary Cravets started Simply Get Clients because she saw small business owners complicating growing their businesses. Or falling victim to the "build it and they will come" myth. So she developed the simple structure to cut through all the noise of social media, "experts", online funnels, advertising and more to focus on the central problem of business owners: getting more clients. And you know what? There is NOT a one-size-fits-all solution.

Love it! You have to try, give it a whirl and see what happens. In a sense, that’s what Yoda is saying, just do it. Maybe when you “try” you have the attitude that it isn’t for real and so you don’t give it your all. So instead, you “do” and then see the result. If it doesn’t work, you try (do) something else. And keep at it!

It’s kind of funny, because it sounds like an absolute..
And you know what Obi Wan said “Only a sith deals in absolutes.” Which is also an absolute, haha
